Hritik Punjabi is a Writer, Director & DOP from Mumbai & London.
Having majored in Journalism, he began his career in Mumbai, where he spent several years working in the film industry. During this time, he gained hands-on experience as an Assistant Director and as a Writer/Director on multiple independent short films and music videos.
His short films have received recognition at international film festivals, including Shorted (India), the New York Flash Film Festival, and the London Lift-Off Film Festival.
A graduate of the London Film School in Directing and Cinematography, Hritik has honed his visual storytelling skills through hands-on experience across a wide range of projects. He has led the visual direction for diverse short films spanning genres such as sci-fi drama, romantic comedy, and thriller, alongside shooting fashion films and music videos. While each project demands a distinct visual language, his ability to adapt across styles is one of his greatest strengths — balancing versatility with a personal touch and a poetic visual sensibility that runs through all his work.
As a writer-director, Hritik wants to work on and to tell coming-of-age stories with a little bit of poetic flair and showcase communities and belonging in a very real yet dramatic and entertaining way.
“Films are the perfect way of reflecting life – and it’s up to the writers & directors which kind of mirror to hold up to showcase it in their own way.”
